wheego Car Sharing FAQs

1. Our concept - your advantages

At wheego share you have the option of paying either by credit card (Visa Card, Master Card) or invoices with PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. At the beginning of the rental contract, a deposit amount is reserved via your credit card. At the end of the rental, the total rental price is calculated and booked from the existing card reservation. With wheego share there are no registration fees, running costs or similar, you only pay when you use wheego share. Simply book your wheego share car or van if you want to be mobile or need to transport something. Otherwise you pay nothing, so it’s no problem at all if you don’t need wheego share for a longer period of time. For the best possible transparency, the accrued rental costs are displayed during the rental period.

In your wheego app you can see different marked areas, these areas are called business areas. There can be a different number of business areas in a region, city or at the sharing car parks of the respective airports. In these business areas, you can book the vehicle, when you no longer need it can you park it and end the rental. We are working on expanding our business areas and you will always receive up-to-date information in your wheego app.

With wheego SHARE you do everything via the wheego APP. As soon as you have successfully registered, you can book and rent our wheego cars and vans around the clock, 365 days a year. So you are completely independent of opening hours and simply open your booked wheego vehicle in the wheego app. Book – open – drive off – the entire process is completely digital and contactless. With wheego SHARE you can reserve and pick up your desired vehicle within our business areas in the cities, at the sharing car parks at the airports and at the wheego rental stations.

If you use wheego RENT, you can reserve your vehicle via our wheego App, our website, by phone or directly at one of our wheego stations with our friendly wheego staff. A rental at wheego RENT is only possible within the opening hours and at one of the wheego stations. You will receive the vehicle key at wheego RENT from our wheego employees, who will also hand over and explain your wheego vehicle to you.

Whether you use wheego SHARE or wheego RENT, you can rent our vehicles for as little as 1 minute and up to 30 days. If you would like to rent a vehicle for longer than 30 days, we have attractive subscription and long-term offers for you. You can find these on our homepage: www.wheego-mobility.com

With wheego SHARE you can choose between 10 different vehicle groups and book the right vehicle for your needs:

Extra Small XS (Yoyo eMobil), Small Economy S (e.g. Opel Corsa), Small Compact S (e.g. Opel Mokka), Midsize M (e.g. Kia Sportage), Premium (e.g. Opel Grandland X), station wagons (e.g. Opel Astra Sports Tourer), 7-9-seater (e.g. VW Multivan, Caravelle), vans Mini T1 (e.g. Opel Combo), vans Mini T2 (e.g. Opel Combo), vans Mini T3 (e.g. Opel Combo), vans Mini T3 (e.g. Opel Combo). (e.g. VW Multivan, Caravelle), Transporter Mini T1 (e.g. Opel Combo), Transporter small T2 (e.g. Ford Transit Custom), Transporter medium T3 (e.g. Peugeot Boxer) and Transporter Plane T4 (e.g. Renault Master Pritsche/Plane).

You can now rent our vans in the areas shown. With our van business via the app, you have the option of renting vans digitally 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please note: the van business is a station-based business, i.e. rental and return in the same business area. One-way journeys via the app are currently not possible. Fuel is not included in the hire price for vans. This means that you pick up the van with a full tank when you rent it and return it with a full tank.

After registering, which is also free of charge, you can use the wheego app to book all vehicles, change your digital bookings, lock and unlock the vehicle doors, easily view your journeys and in the future report any defects or damages.

To be able to use wheego SHARE, you must be at least 18 years old, have been in possession of a valid driving licence for at least 1 year and have a credit card.

Your driving licence will be verified digitally in the wheego app during your registration process. You will be forwarded to our partner who will carry out the check on our behalf and verify your driving licence and ID card. 

For verification, we accept valid driving licences issued in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). 

Driving licences from a non-EU/EEA country are valid for 6 months from the date of first entry into Germany.

There is no minimum contract duration with wheego SHARE. With the complete registration in the APP you conclude a framework contract with us. If you no longer wish to use wheego, you can terminate the framework agreement with four weeks’ notice to the end of the month. However, as you only pay for wheego SHARE after use, there are no costs for you, even if you do not use wheego SHARE for a longer period of time.

2. Benefits and locations

On your wheego APP you can either rent different vehicles digitally 24/7 or make a classic reservation for wheego RENT. Different areas are marked on the app, we call these areas business areas. There can be a different number of business areas in a region, city or at the sharing car parks of the respective airports. In these business areas, you can reserve the vehicle when you no longer need it, park it and end the rental. We are working on expanding our business areas and you will always receive the latest information on your wheego APP.

The tariffs you can book with wheego share already include the fuel costs for cars and the charging costs for our e-vehicles. In addition to our standard tariff, we offer many tariff packages with different mileages, which already include corresponding kilometre packages. Compare for yourself – the prices for additional kilometres with many classic car rental companies are comparable to those of wheego share – and that’s without the fuel for cars, which is included with wheego share. We are sure that with wheego share we can offer you a fair and transparent price, regardless of whether you use your wheego vehicle a lot or a little. The costs for fuel and/or recharging are included in the rental price for cars and are covered by us. Please use our refuelling and charging card for this. You will find these in the key holder in the glove compartment. However, please note the minimum tank capacity or, in the case of our electric vehicles, the minimum charge level of 25%, which is required on return, so that you avoid unnecessary charges. Your wheego rental price also includes liability insurance and a basic protection package for damage to the vehicle. With a (vehicle) group-dependent protection package for damage to the vehicle, you can reduce the excess even further in the future for a small fee – you select this with every booking and can therefore always flexibly decide which protection package you prefer. You can find the respective excess as well as the fees and prices in our current schedule of costs and fees. The wheego share offer also includes service, maintenance, taxes, insurance, GEZ, tyres and depreciation due to normal use of the vehicle. This also includes all naturally occurring signs of use such as tyre and brake wear as well as any necessary workshop appointments for tyre and oil changes. If you are involved in an accident with your wheego car, we will of course take care of settling the claim with the insurance company.

We offer you 2 options for the reservation, on the one hand you can book your wheego vehicle free of charge 10 minutes before the rental. For a small extra charge per minute, you can reserve your wheego vehicle up to 24 hours in advance. Then you can be sure that you will get your vehicle. You also have the option of using our booking widget in the app to reserve a wheego vehicle for collection during our opening hours at one of our branches.

You can start or end your hire at the airport at any time. In both cases, we will automatically charge you a small additional fee of €9.90. When renting at the airport, the airport fee is already included in the minute rate.

At wheego SHARE you can rent our vehicles from 1 minute and up to 30 days. If you need a vehicle for longer, ask us for an offer from the wheego car subscription / long-term rental – or book it directly at: www.wheego-mobility.com. Here we offer very attractive prices for various durations as an alternative to owning your own car or leasing a vehicle.

Thanks to our innovative technology, we can pass on the resulting cost benefits to you. You can rent the wheego vehicle digitally 24/7 and use it in the same way as with a classic car rental, but much cheaper, without waiting times at the counter, without annoying paperwork and without someone trying to sell you something in addition. You can reserve your wheego vehicle digitally up to 24 hours in advance, in the city or at our airport locations. The fuel/energy used is already included in the rental price of our cars.

3. All about the rental

The wheego vehicles available in your area are displayed on the main page of the app and on the map. Once you have decided on your wheego vehicle, touch the corresponding field in the app. Here you now have the option to select a suitable tariff for your journey (“Change tariff”). Our minute tariff is set as standard. There are 4 different rate types to choose from: minute rates, hourly rates (package prices for 3 or 6 hours), 1-day rates and multi-day rates. Once you have selected the appropriate rate, confirm with “Book rate” and then “Reserve now”. The vehicle is then reserved for you for 10 minutes. To start the rental, simply click on “Open vehicle” and you’re ready to go. If you would like to reserve your vehicle further in advance, we offer this service up to 24 hours in advance. At all airports that belong to our business area, you can conveniently book your wheego vehicle well in advance of the time you land, no matter where you are!

We offer you 2 options for the reservation, on the one hand you can reserve your wheego vehicle free of charge 10 minutes before the rental. For a small surcharge per minute, you can reserve your wheego vehicle up to 24 hours in advance. Then you can be sure that you will get your vehicle.

You can open and start your wheego SHARE vehicle at any time within the booking period you have selected, i.e. around the clock, seven days a week and 365 days a year.

You can easily open your booked wheego vehicle with the wheego app. The vehicle key is located in the glove compartment in the key holder. For vehicles equipped with a start-stop button, you no longer need a vehicle key – you can simply start/stop the car with the button and lock it with the app at the end of use or for interim parking.

Please be sure to check your wheego vehicle for any damage, defects, missing parts (e.g. fuel card, charging cable) and dirt before using it. Before opening the vehicle, you will be asked to take 4 photos in the app to document the condition of the vehicle. If you discover any damage or if the vehicle is dirty inside or, in the case of vans, on the loading area, please report this via the wheego app to sharing@wheego-mobility.com before starting your journey. Please also check whether the vehicle key with the fuel and charging card (cars only) is in the glove compartment or in the key holder.

If your vehicle cannot be opened as desired, please contact the wheego hotline immediately via the telephone button or 0203-570 777 79. Our service team will make sure that you get into your car as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you must stay with the vehicle until wheego has informed you of the next steps.

If your vehicle does not open as requested, please contact the wheego hotline immediately via the phone button or +49203-570 777 79. Our service team will make sure that you get into your car as soon as possible. In the meantime, please remain at the vehicle until wheego has informed you about the further procedure.

4. During the rental period

If you park your wheego vehicle for a break during your booking, use the key (vehicles without a start-stop button) or the app to temporarily lock it. The rental will then continue as normal and you can resume your journey at any time. If you want to end your journey in the wheego business area for good, put the key back in the key holder in the glove compartment, lock the vehicle using the wheego app and end your rental in the app.

When parking, always make sure that you are not obstructing anyone, pay attention to the appropriate signage in the street area and always observe the road traffic regulations. Where possible, we work with the local authorities to ensure that you can park your wheego vehicle in any proper and publicly accessible car park within the business area. However, each city has its own parking regulations. We are currently working on different solutions with the cities of Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Duisburg and Frankfurt.

Berlin: You currently have to pay to park in Berlin’s car park management zones. We are currently working on a solution with the city of Berlin.

Hamburg: You currently have to pay to park in Hamburg’s parking management zones. We are currently working on a solution with the city of Hamburg.

Rellingen : Parking in the business area car park is free of charge.

Düsseldorf : You currently have to pay to park in the car park management zones in Düsseldorf. We are currently working on a solution with the city of Düsseldorf.

Duisburg : In the car park management zones in Duisburg, parking is currently subject to a charge. We are currently working on a solution with the city of Duisburg.

Cologne : coming soon Munich Airport : the wheego vehicle must be returned to the sharing car park zone at Munich Airport.

Stuttgart : coming soon

Frankfurt : In the car park management zones of Frankfurt, parking is currently subject to a charge. We are currently working on a solution with the city of Frankfurt.

Within the business area, the vehicle can either be returned to a free parking space on public roads that is not marked by a stopping or parking ban or to specially marked private parking spaces. Only park in areas with a day or time-related restriction on parking authorisation (e.g. stopping bans with additional signs such as “7:00 – 17:00” or “Monday 6:00 – 12:00”) if the restriction only comes into effect 48 hours after the vehicle has been parked. This also applies to traffic bans, such as temporary parking bans due to weekly markets, events or parades.

We provide you with our DKV Tank & Ladekarte for refuelling our share passenger cars. You will find the refuelling & charging card in the key holder of the vehicle. The PIN is displayed in the “Refuelling / Charging” app function during the rental.

Like all card payment systems, the DKV card is only valid in the participating DKV petrol station network. Although we cover around 99% of all petrol stations in Germany with DKV, please make sure that your chosen petrol station accepts the DKV card as a means of payment before filling up. If this is not the case, we will refund the fuel you have paid for. For the reimbursement, please send us an e-mail immediately with the fuel receipt as a PDF or photo (in the usual image format jpg., png), a photo of the wheego vehicle as it is at the petrol station on which the registration number can be seen, as well as a photo of the fuel gauge (which you can find on the dashboard display when the ignition is switched on), the name of the renter and your bank details (name of bank & IBAN) to tankerstattung@wheego-mobility.com. The refund will be made by bank transfer, subject to verification of the refuelling process. Please note that for refuelling without our DKV card and not due to a technical error on our part, the transfer will be made minus a processing fee. You will find the charging card in the key/card holder in the glove compartment of the wheego vehicle. You can use it to charge your wheego vehicle at more than 40,000 charging stations in the DKV network throughout Germany at our charge.

You will find the charging connection on the YOYO at the front of the vehicle behind the flap above the bumper. You open this flap by pulling the lever twice at the bottom left of the footwell on the driver’s side. Please note that the hand/foot brake must be pressed and the selector switch must be set to “N” for charging.

In our wheego electric vehicles you will find the charging cable for the socket connection and/or a charging cable for fast charging in the boot. At public charging points, you can charge the vehicle using the fuel and charging card from the glove compartment without having to pay for it yourself.

The return of your wheego vehicle in another business area is possible for an additional fee. The amount of the fee can be found in the current cost and fee schedule: www.wheego-mobility.com/de/agb#agb-share. There is no additional one-way fee for journeys between our city zones and the associated airports (e.g. Berlin – BER, Hamburg – HAM, Düsseldorf – DUS etc.). Our vans are only available on a station basis, i.e. hire and return at the same location. One-way journeys are not possible.

Yes, you can also use your wheego vehicle outside Germany. Please note that you are only allowed to enter the following countries with your wheego car or van: Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Italy, Ireland, Iceland, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary. Please note that driving on motorways in some countries is subject to a charge (toll). You must pay these yourself. Smoking is not permitted in wheego cars. If you do so anyway, we will have to charge you for the costs of special cleaning, removal of traces and loss of use. Please refer to our cost and fee schedule:: www.wheego-mobility.com/de/agb-mobile#kosten-share  

In principle, you may transport your pet in your wheego car. However, you must make sure that the pet does not leave any dirt, hair or scratch marks behind. You will have to pay for the special cleaning and removal of marks yourself.

For safety reasons, we also recommend that you always use a transport box and place it in the boot.

We would like to point out that animals must be adequately secured during transport and that you must provide a suitable securing device in the form of a transport box, belt or separating grid and use it when travelling.

You receive our vans on a full-full principle. This means a full tank of petrol when you rent and a full tank when you return. For passenger cars we do not expect you to refuel or charge your wheego vehicle after every rental. However, when returning the wheego vehicle, please make sure that it has at least 25% fuel or that the electric vehicle has at least 25% charge. Please also note that you do not have to pay for the fuel you refuel and the electricity you charge yourself. You simply use the wheego fuel and charging card in the vehicle and refuel at one of our partner petrol stations or charge at the approved charging stations. If you return your wheego vehicle with a tank content of less than 25% or a charge level of less than 25%, we will charge a fee because we have to refuel the vehicle ourselves before the next customer can use it. 5. When returning the vehicle

In order to provide our customers with vehicles that can be planned and reserved, we have defined business areas. Therefore, you can only return your vehicle and terminate the rental in the defined business areas. If you return and terminate the rental outside our business area, you will incur additional charges. The costs are based on the cost of returning the vehicle to the business area.

A successful termination of the rental is only possible if a secure and stable mobile connection to the vehicle can be established at the vehicle’s return location and the vehicle is located within a zone of the business territory authorised for return. Within the business area, the vehicle can be returned either to a free parking space not marked by a stopping or parking ban on public roads or to specially marked private parking spaces. Only park in areas with a day or time-related restriction on parking authorisation (e.g. stopping bans with additional signs such as “7:00 – 17:00” or “Monday 6:00 – 12:00”) if the restriction only comes into effect 48 hours after the vehicle has been parked. This also applies to traffic bans, e.g. temporary parking bans due to weekly markets, events or parades.

Before the end of the rental, you will be asked to take 4 photos in the app to document the condition of the vehicle. Please make sure that the photos are meaningful and that the vehicle’s licence plate number is visible.

You automatically initiate the end of your rental process when you have parked your wheego vehicle, returned the key, the fuel and charging card (car) to the key holder provided in the glove compartment, locked the windows and doors and the 4 vehicle photos have been taken. You can then simply end the rental via the wheego app. As soon as the central locking system of your wheego vehicle is closed, the rental is actually terminated. Please note that the termination of a rental of an electric vehicle cannot take place at a charging station, should you end your rental there, we will all incur costs that we want to avoid. If you need to refuel (or charge), use our wheego refuelling and charging card, which is located in the key holder of the glove compartment of your wheego vehicle Our refuelling and charging card is accepted in the network of our partner petrol stations (with DKV card acceptance), which covers more than 99% of all petrol stations in Germany. You will receive the PIN number as part of your rental when you press the “Refuel / Charge” button in the app. When returning the vehicle, you must make sure that the wheego vehicle is refuelled with at least 25% or that electric vehicles are charged with at least 25%. If you return your wheego vehicle with a fuel level of less than 25% (or for electric vehicles with a charge level of less than 25%), we will charge a fee because we first have to refuel/charge the vehicle ourselves before the next wheego customer can use it. Please leave your wheego vehicle at the end of your hire exactly as you would like to find it on your next journey. Please remove all soiling that you have caused during your hire and also remove all waste. If we are able to attribute major dirt or waste to your ride, we will have to charge you the cleaning fees.

If you are unable to complete the rental process as requested, please contact the wheego hotline immediately via the telephone button or 0203-570 777 79. You must also remain with the vehicle until wheego has informed you of the further procedure. If there is a technical problem for which you are not responsible, wheego will of course reimburse you immediately for any additional rental costs incurred. However, if you cannot terminate the rental because the fuel and charging card or the vehicle keys are not in the vehicle, or you have not closed the doors or windows, then your rental will continue.

Your wheego rental price includes signs of wear and tear such as minor scratches on door handles or in the interior. Naturally occurring signs of wear and tear, such as tyre and brake wear, are also included. Scratches that need to be painted, dents that need to be pressed out or stone chips that need to be repaired are charged at the end of the rental period. For each claim, you will be charged the damage determined by the expert opinion, limited to the agreed excess plus a claims handling fee. We want our wheego products to be fair and transparent for you. That’s why it’s very important to us that you know all the costs that may be incurred. Depending on the rate you have booked, your rental price already includes various kilometre packages for hourly and daily rentals. For every kilometre over your booked inclusive kilometre package, you pay the cost of the additional kilometres according to the tariff. If you exceed the rental period you have booked, we will charge you for the additional rental period as well as the kilometres driven according to the minute rate. You will receive your wheego transporter with a full tank of petrol. This means a full tank of petrol when you rent it and a full tank when you return it. If you do not fill up the tank before returning the wheego transporter, we will charge you for the fuel you have refuelled plus an expense fee. You can find the fee in our current schedule of costs and charges (www.wheego-mobility.com/de/agb#agb-share). In the case of cars, it is necessary that you return your wheego car with a tank content or, in the case of electric vehicles, with a charge level of at least 25%, so that the next wheego customer does not have to refuel/charge directly. You simply use the wheego fuelling and charging card in the vehicle, refuel at one of our partner filling stations or charge at one of our charging stations. If the fuel level/charge level of your wheego car is below 25%, we will have to charge you an expense fee. If the tank is almost empty when you return it, i.e. below ⅛ tank capacity, or the charge level is below 10%, the fee will increase as we have to deploy staff for refuelling or charging trips. In the event of damage, we charge the damage costs up to a maximum of the agreed excess as well as a handling fee. In order to provide our customers with vehicles that can be planned and reserved, we have defined business areas. If you return and terminate the rental outside our business area, you will incur additional charges. The costs are based on the cost of returning the vehicle to the business area. We charge a one-off fee of €9.90 for rentals at the airport (excluding minute rate). When renting in the city and returning at the corresponding airport (e.g. Berlin – BER, Hamburg – HAM, Düsseldorf – DUS etc.) the airport fee will also be charged. At the beginning of the rental agreement, a deposit is reserved on the credit card on file. At the end of the rental, the total rental price is calculated and debited from the credit card as part of the deposit reservation.

In principle, you can only return your vehicle in the defined business areas and end the rental there.  When parking, always make sure that you do not obstruct anyone, pay attention to the appropriate signage in the road area and always observe the road traffic regulations.

Where possible, we work with local authorities to ensure that you can park your wheego vehicle in any proper and publicly accessible parking space within the business area. However, each city has its own parking regulations.

Berlin: In the parking management zones of Berlin, you are currently charged for parking. We are currently working on a solution with the city of Berlin. Hamburg: In Hamburg, parking in the city’s parking management zones is included in the rental price. Rellingen : Parking in the parking lot of the business area is free of charge for you. Within the business area, the vehicle can be returned either to a free parking space on public roads not marked by a stopping or parking ban or to specially marked private parking spaces. Parking in areas with a day or time-related restriction on parking authorization (e.g. stopping bans with additional signs such as “7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.” or “Monday 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.”) is only permitted if the restriction does not take effect until 48 hours after the vehicle has been parked. This also applies to traffic bans, such as temporary parking bans due to weekly markets, events or parades.

If you need to refuel (or charge), use our wheego refueling and charging card, which is located in the keyholder of the glove compartment of your wheego vehicle. Our refueling and charging card is accepted in the network of our partner gas stations (with DKV card acceptance), which covers more than 99% of all gas stations in Germany. You will receive the PIN number as part of your rental when you press the “Refuel / Charge” button in the app. When returning the vehicle, you must make sure that the wheego vehicle is refueled with at least 25% or that electric vehicles are charged with at least 25%. If you return your wheego vehicle with a tank level of less than 25% (or for electric vehicles with a charge level of less than 25%), we will charge a fee because we have to refuel/charge the vehicle ourselves before the next wheego customer can use it. You will find the charging port on the YOYO at the front of the vehicle behind the flap above the bumper. You can open this flap by pulling the lever 2 times on the bottom left of the footwell on the driver’s side. Please note that for charging, the hand/foot brake must be pressed and the selector switch must be set to “N”.

Please leave your wheego vehicle at the end of the rental period exactly as you would like to find it on your next trip. Please remove all dirt that you have caused during your rental and also remove all waste. Should we be able to assign larger soiling or waste to your ride, then we will have to charge you the cleaning fees.

A successful termination of the rental is only possible if a secure and stable mobile connection to the vehicle can be established at the return location of the vehicle and the vehicle is located within a zone of the business territory approved for return. Within the business territory, the vehicle may be returned either to a free parking space on public roads not marked by a stopping or parking prohibition or to specially marked private parking spaces. Parking in areas with a day or time-related restriction on parking authorization (e.g. stopping bans with additional signs such as “7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.” or “Monday 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.”) is only permitted if the restriction does not take effect until 48 hours after the vehicle has been parked. You automatically initiate the termination of your rental when you park your wheego vehicle, return the key, fuel and charging card to the designated keyholder in the glove compartment and the windows and doors are locked. You can then easily end the rental via the wheego app. As soon as the central locking of your wheego vehicle is closed, the rental is actually terminated. Please note that the termination of a rental of an electric vehicle cannot take place at a charging station, if you terminate your rental there, we all incur costs that we want to avoid. Successful termination of the rental is only possible if a secure and stable mobile connection to the vehicle can be established at the vehicle return location and the vehicle is within an approved zone of the business territory for return. 

If you are unable to complete the rental process as requested, please contact the wheego hotline immediately via the phone button or +4920357077779. It is also imperative that you remain with the vehicle until wheego has informed you of the further procedure. If there is a technical problem that you are not responsible for, wheego will of course immediately reimburse you for any additional rental costs incurred. However, if you are unable to complete the rental because the fuel and charging card or the vehicle keys are not in the vehicle, or you have not closed the doors or windows, your rental will continue to run.

Your wheego rental price includes signs of use such as minor scratches on door handles or in the interior. Naturally occurring signs of use, such as tire and brake wear, are also already included. Scratches that need to be painted, dents that need to be squeezed or stone chips that need repair will be charged after the rental period. For each damage, you will be charged for the damage determined by the expert opinion, limited to the agreed deductible plus a damage processing fee. If the damage determined in the expert opinion is less than the agreed deductible, we will also charge the costs of preparing the expert opinion.  The respective deductible as well as the fees for the processing and the costs for the preparation of an expert opinion can be found in our current schedule of costs and fees (www.wheego-mobility.com/de/agb-mobile#kosten-share).

We want our wheego products to be fair and transparent for you. Therefore, it is very important for us that you know all costs that may be incurred. 

Depending on the rate you book, your rental price already includes various mileage packages for hourly and daily rentals. You pay for each kilometer that exceeds your booked inclusive kilometer package, the cost of the additional kilometers according to the tariff. If you exceed the rental period you booked, we will charge you for the additional rental period as well as the kilometers driven according to the per-minute rate.

So that the next wheego customer does not have to refuel/charge directly, it is necessary that you return your wheego SHARE vehicle with a fuel level or, in the case of electric vehicles, with a charge level of at least 25%. Please note that you do not have to pay for the fuel you fill up here and the electricity you charge. You simply use the wheego fuel and charge card in your vehicle, fill up at one of our partner fuel stations or charge at one of our charging stations. If the tank level/charge level is below 25%, we will have to charge you an expense fee. If the tank is almost empty when you return it, i.e. below ⅛ tank capacity, or the charge level is below 10%, then the fee increases, as we have to deploy personnel for refueling or charging trips.

In the event of a claim, we charge the damage costs up to a maximum of the agreed deductible as well as a handling fee.  All possible costs that may arise, we have clearly presented for you in our current cost and fee schedule (www.wheego-mobility.com/de/agb-mobile#kosten-share).

At the beginning of the rental contract, the reserved rate will be debited from the deposited means of payment. If the rental is extended via the app the debit will be made at the time of the rental contract extension. At the end of the rental period, the total rental charge is calculated and offset against the payments already made.

All vehicles are covered by liability insurance. In the event of damage to our vehicle, the excess in the event of a claim depends on the vehicle group booked and the cover package (insurance) booked.

You can also rely on wheego in the event of a claim. Our own claims management is available for you around the clock, supports you and helps you organize the next steps. The private use of electric company cars up to a gross list price of €60,000 is taxed at a lower percentage of only 0.25% of the gross list price as a non-cash benefit in order to promote electromobility. What is included with wheego RENT?
Your rental price includes a comprehensive inclusive mileage package, providing 25 free kilometers per hour or up to 500 free kilometers per day. Compare the rental offers of other car rental providers, but note that your wheego price already includes many extras!
Your wheego RENT offer also covers service, maintenance, taxes, insurance, broadcasting fees (GEZ), tires, legal inspections such as the main inspection/emission inspection (AU/HU), and the depreciation due to the normal use of the vehicle. What is included with wheego SHARE?

 

An inclusive km package is already included in your wheego SHARE rental price.

When using the standard tariff, this is always 100 free KM.

If you decide on our hourly or daily packages, you can also choose between various inclusive KM options, tailored to your needs

No matter how long you rent, with wheego the fuel costs are already completely included in your rental price. Compare for yourself – the multi-kilometer prices at many classic car rental companies are comparable to those of wheego SHARE – and that without the fuel that is included with wheego SHARE. We are sure that we can offer you a fair and transparent price, regardless of whether you use your wheego vehicle a little or a lot.

So you don’t have to pay for the refueling(s) or reloading yourself, wheego takes care of that for you. However, please note the minimum tank content or, in the case of our electric vehicles, the minimum charge level that is required when returning the vehicle, so that you avoid unnecessary fees.

Your wheego rental rate also includes a reduction in the deductible, which is between €500 and €1,500 depending on the vehicle group. You can find detailed information on this in the wheego Share cost and fee schedule and in the wheego app.

Your wheego SHARE offer also includes service, maintenance, vehicle taxes, insurance, GEZ, tires and the loss of value due to normal use of the vehicle. How long can I reserve a vehicle from wheego SHARE (before starting the ride)?

 

Once you have decided on a specific vehicle and reserved it, you have 10 minutes to start your rental. This reservation time is free of charge for you.

You can also extend your reservation time to a maximum of 6 hours, for example to secure your wheego Share vehicle at the destination airport before departure.

The extension of the reservation time is subject to a fee. You can find detailed information on this in the wheego app and in the wheego share schedule of costs and fees.

 

How are wheego vehicles insured?

All wheego vehicles have fully comprehensive insurance. Depending on the vehicle group, the deductible in the event of damage is between €500 and €1,500. You can find detailed information on this in the wheego Share cost and fee schedule and in the wheego app.

When can I open my wheego vehicle?

You can open and start your wheego SHARE vehicle at any time during the reservation period, i.e. around the clock, seven days a week and 365 days a year from the reserved location.

 

Where can I find my reserved wheego SHARE vehicle?

When reserving your wheego car or van in the app, you can see the exact location of your wheego SHARE vehicle on the map. You must be in close proximity to the vehicle to open it.

 

Where can I find the vehicle key?

You simply open your booked wheego vehicle with the wheego app. The vehicle key is in the glove compartment. For vehicles that are equipped with a start-stop button, you no longer need a vehicle key – you can simply start the car with the button and lock it via the app at the end of use.

 

What do I do if I want to cancel my booking?

You can change or cancel your booking free of charge via the wheego app up to 24 hours before the start of the booked rental period.

 

What do I have to pay particular attention to before starting the journey?

Please check your wheego vehicle for any damage, defects, missing parts (e.g. fuel card, charging cable) and contamination before using it. If you discover existing damage, please report this to wheego before starting your journey using the corresponding function in the wheego APP or by telephone. What do I have to do if I want to park the wheego SHARE vehicle for a break?

If you park your wheego vehicle for a break during your rental, use the key (vehicles without a start-stop button) or the app to temporarily lock it. The rental then continues as normal and you can continue the journey at any time. If you want to finally end your journey in a wheego business area, put the key back in the key holder in the glove compartment and lock the vehicle using the wheego app and end your rental in the app.

 

Where can I find the charging cable in my electric vehicle?

In our wheego electric vehicles you will find a charging cable for the socket connection and a charging cable for fast charging. At public charging points you can use the fuel and charging card which is stored in the glove compartment to charge the vehicle without paying for it yourself.

The power connection of your wheego electric vehicle is in the front on the engine hood. If you still have questions, you will find a precise and brief explanation of how charging works in the operating instructions for your vehicle.

 

At which charging stations can I charge wheego SHARE electric vehicles?

You can find the charging card next to the wheego vehicle key in the glove compartment. Using the wheego charging card means that you can charge the vehicle at more than 40,000 charging stations from the DKV network across Germany at our expense. The charging cable is located in the trunk of all wheego vehicles.

 

Refueling and charging included – how does it work?

If you need to fill up (or charge), use our wheego fuel and charging card, which is located in the glove compartment of your wheego vehicle. There you will also find all information about our petrol station and charging station partners.

The network of our petrol station partners comprises more than 99% of all petrol stations in Germany.

You will get the PIN-Code for the fuel and charging card when you make your booking in the app.

When returning the vehicle, you must make sure that the wheego vehicle is at least ¼ filled up or that the electric vehicle is at least 25% charged. Please check your wheego vehicle for any damage, defects, missing parts (e.g. fuel and charging card, charging cable) and contamination before using it. If you discover existing damage, please report this to wheego before starting your journey using the corresponding function in the wheego APP or by telephone. Please also check whether the vehicle key and the fuel and charging card are in the glove compartment or in the keyholder.

If damage occurs during use, please inform us immediately via the wheego hotline and use the damage assessment in the wheego app to document it. Please always inform the police in the event of an accident or damage – regardless of whether third parties have been harmed or not. If the police tell you that they are refusing to record the accident, you must request written confirmation of this from the police and hand this over to wheego when you return the vehicle. This is the only way to ensure that the fully comprehensive insurance takes effect and that you are only liable within the framework of the deductible.

 

What do I do if I want to cancel or amend my booking?

Would you like to cancel your booked trip or shorten the rental period? Then you can cancel your booking via the wheego app. Cancellation is free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the rental period.

 

How can I extend my wheego SHARE booking?

 

Sometimes your plans change – that’s no problem with wheego. You can rent your wheego vehicle for up to 30 days.

With the standard tariff, your rental price is calculated according to minutes and kilometers driven (whereby 100 free km are already included).

In the case of hourly or daily package prices, the package price you have selected applies until the booked return time, after which the calculation of the further rental period is based on the conditions of the standard tariff.

 

What happens if I have made a booking but don´t start the ride?

If you have booked a wheego vehicle and then do not make the booking, you will be charged the price that you confirmed when booking.

 

Can I make one-way trips with wheego SHARE?

 

One-way rentals are possible within a designated wheego business area without additional costs, this also includes trips from the airport to the respective city area and vice versa.

For one-way rentals between two business areas, a one-way fee will be charged in accordance with the cost and fee schedul

 

Can I go abroad with my wheego SHARE vehicle?

Yes, you can also use your wheego SHARE vehicle outside of Germany. Please note that you are only allowed to enter the following countries with your wheego car or van: Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Italy, Ireland, Iceland, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands , Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary.

 

For using the wheego vehicle outside of Germany, we will charge you a one-time fee of € 19 per rental, as we will have increased costs for the vehicle return transport and repair in the event of damage or a breakdown.

To do this, book the “Cross Border” option in the wheego app for your planned trip abroad before starting your journey. If you go abroad without having booked the “Cross Border” option in advance, your insurance cover will expire and you will be liable up to the full vehicle value in the event of a claim. In addition, we will charge you a penalty fee.

 

What should I do in the event of an accident or breakdown?

If you have an accident, be secure yourself first and mark the vehicle for the following traffic. Then please inform us immediately via our wheego hotline, which can be reached 24 hours a day on 0203 570 777 77. We will take care of the further measures. Your wheego team is also available to you by email in the event of a damage case or breakdown; you can reach us at service@wheego-mobility.com.

 

Can I smoke in the wheego car?

Smoking is not permitted in the wheego cars.

Should you still do so, we will have to invoice you for the costs for the special cleaning, removal of traces and the loss of use.

 

Can I transport my pet in my wheego car?

In principle, you can transport your pet in your wheego car. But you have to make sure that the animal does not leave any dirt, hair or scratch marks.

Because you will pay for the special cleaning and removal of traces yourself.

 

For safety reasons, we recommend always using a transport box and placing it in the trunk.

 

We would like to point out that animals must be adequately secured during transport and that you must provide suitable security by means of a transport box, belt or partition and use them when driving.

When returning the vehicle, you must make sure that the wheego vehicle is at least ¼ filled up or, in the case of electric vehicles, at least 25% charged. Does the vehicle have to be clean when it is returned?

At the end of the rental, please leave your wheego vehicle exactly as you would like to find it on your next trip. Please remove all dirt that you have caused during your rental and also remove all waste.

Should we assign major soiling or waste to your journey, then we will have to invoice you for the cleaning fees.

 

What do I have to pay attention to when ending the rental?

 

You initiate the end of your rental process automatically when you park your wheego vehicle in a wheego business area and when you have returned the key and the fuel and charging card to the holder provided and the windows and doors are locked. Of course you can also end your rental via the wheego app.

It is imperative that you ensure that the end of your rental is fully completed before leaving the vehicle. Please note that the rental will continue if you leave the vehicle even though your rental process has not ended.

 

Please note that you are obliged to park the vehicle properly and in accordance with the road traffic regulations at the end of the rental period in a permitted free parking space in the public traffic area in the wheego business area.

In some business areas, ending your rental is also permitted in public parking spaces that are subject to a fee. You can find detailed information on this in the wheego app.

 

I can’t finish the rental. How do I get help?

If you cannot finish the rental process as desired, please contact the wheego service hotline immediately. You also have to stay at the vehicle until wheego has informed you about how to proceed.

Should there be a technical problem for which you are not responsible, then wheego will of course immediately reimburse you for any additional rental costs.

However, if you cannot end the rental because the fuel and charging card or the vehicle keys are not in the vehicle, or you have not closed the doors or windows, then your rental will continue.

 

What damage will be billed at the end of my rental?

Signs of use such as small scratches on door handles or in the interior are included in your wheego rental rate. Naturally occurring signs of use such as tire and brake wear are also included. At the end of the rental period, you will be charged for scratches that need to be painted, dents that need to be squeezed out or stone chips that need to be repaired. For each claim, you will be charged a maximum of the agreed deductible plus a damage processing fee.

 

Which hidden costs do I have to fear when returning the vehicle?

 

We want our wheego products to be fair and transparent for you. It is therefore very important for us that you are aware of all possible costs when you make your reservation.

If you use the vehicle longer than planned and booked when choosing an hourly or daily package, the additional rental period will be billed on the basis of the standard rate.

So that the next wheego customer does not have to refuel/charge directly, it is necessary that you return your wheego SHARE vehicle with a tank capacity or, in the case of electric vehicles, with a charge level of at least 25%.

Please note that you do not have to pay for the fuel you fill up here and the electricity you charge yourself. You simply use the wheego fuel and charging card in the vehicle and fill up at one of our partner petrol stations or charge at one of our partner charging stations.

If the tank content/charge level is below 25%, we have to charge you an expense fee in accordance with the wheego SHARE cost and fee schedule.

In the event of a claim, we will charge you for the damage costs up to a maximum of the agreed deductible as well as a processing fee. Depending on the vehicle group, the deductible is between €500 and €1,500.

 

How does billing work at wheego SHARE?

You will receive an invoice after every wheego SHARE trip. The invoice amount will then be conveniently debited from your chosen payment method within the next few days.

Please note that wheego already reserves the amount of your wheego reservation plus a deposit of 250€ on the means of payment you have deposited when complating your wheego reservation.

How are wheego vehicles insured?

All wheego vehicles have fully comprehensive insurance. The deductible in the event of damage is between €500 and €1,500, depending on the vehicle group. If available, the maximum deductible can be reduced by booking the corresponding option in the wheego app.

 

What do I have to do if I cause or discover damage?

You can also rely on wheego in the event of damage. Our own damage management team is available to you around the clock, supports you and helps you to organize the next steps. You can also use the damage record in the wheego app to document a damage.

 

You can find the number of the damage management team hotline in the wheego app and also in the vehicle. In the event of an accident, please always call the police to properly clarify the question of guilt.

 

What should I do in the event of an accident or breakdown?

If you have an accident, please always secure yourself first and mark the vehicle for the following traffic. Then please inform us immediately via our wheego hotline, which can be reached 24 hours a day on 0203 570 777 77. We will take care of the further measures.

 

What happens if I get a parking ticket or a speeding ticket?

If you have been driving too fast or receive a ticket for any other reason, we will receive an information and will forward the relevant data to the authorities. We will charge you a processing fee for this effort.

How do I proceed as a business customer if I want to use wheego SHARE?

If you only want to rent a single wheego SHARE vehicle, then register as normal using the wheego app. If you need several vehicles, please contact us by email at business@wheego-mobility.com.

For our commercial customers, regardless of whether they are sole proprietorships, craft businesses, medium-sized companies or large multi-national groups, we at wheego have developed many mobility solutions that can be tailored precisely to your needs. Can wheego SHARE vehicles also be used as pool vehicles?

Yes, for our commercial and corporate customers we offer solutions that enable the wheego SHARE vehicles to be used also as pool vehicles. Important: for all users of your company, when concluding a company contract for wheego SHARE, the requirements described in our terms and conditions with regard to the minimum age and duration of the possession of a driver’s license apply. What tax advantages does a wheego SHARE electric vehicle offer?

The private use of e-company cars up to a gross list price of € 60,000 is taxed as a pecuniary benefit to promote electromobility with a lower percentage of only 0.25% of the gross list price. For plug-in hybrid vehicles that have a minimum range in electric mode of at least 40 km and a maximum gross list price of € 60,000, the taxation is reduced from normally 1% to only 0.5% of the gross list price.
